Steven: How many people are there in your family?
Misako: There are five of us, me, my dad, my mom, my grandma, and my brother.
Steven: Where do you live?
Misako: I live in Takeo City.
Steven: Do you live with all of your family?
Misako: Yes, except my brother. He lives in Fukuoka now.
Steven: What does he do there?
Misako: He is a college student.
Steven: Oh, I see.

Steven: 家族は何人いるの？
Misako: 私を入れて５人よ。　お父さん、お母さん、おばあちゃん、そして、弟。.
Steven: どこに住んでるの？
Misako: 武雄市に住んでいるの。
Steven: 家族全員と住んでいるの？
Misako: ええ、弟以外はね。　彼は今、福岡に住んでるわ。
Steven: 彼は何をしているの？
Misako: 大学生よ。
Steven: へー、そうなんだ。
　


家族についてのいろいろな表現
My first son is in 5th grade.　私の長男は５年生です。
He goes to Asahi Elementary School.　彼は朝日小学校に行っています。
My daughter is 5 years old.　私の娘は５才です。
She goes to kindergarten.　彼女は幼稚園に行っています。
He goes to Myoshin Kindergarten.　彼は明信幼稚園に行っています。
My second daughter goes to nursery school.　次女は保育園に行っています。
What does your wife do?　奥さんは何をしていらしゃいますか？
She is a housemaker.　彼女は主婦です。
She is taking care of kids.　彼女は育児をしています。
She works at a restaurant as a chef.　彼女はシェフとしてレストランで働いています。
My grandmother is 73 years old and very active.　祖母は７３才でとっても元気です。
Miwa is my sister's daughter.　美和は私の姉の娘です。　
Miwa is my niece.　美和は私の姪です。
Kenji is my brother's son.　健二は私の兄の息子です。
Kenji is my nephew.　健二は私の甥です。

father→父、お父さん
dad→パパ、おとうさん、とうちゃん、親父（fatherよりもくだけた感じ）

mother→母、お母さん
mom→ママ、おかあさん、かあちゃん、お袋（motherよりもくだけた感じ）
